ALCOHOLS SERIES

Alcohols Series, a large class of organic compounds, are compounds in which the hydrogen atoms in the side chains of aliphatic, alicyclic, or aromatic hydrocarbons are replaced by hydroxyl groups. Generally referred to as alcohols, the hydroxyl group is linked to a saturated SP3 hybrid carbon atom. The chemical property of alcohols are acidity, reducibility, esterification, and reaction with hydrohalogen acid.
